Synth Dreads
Synthetic Dread Extensions are a temporary (though sometimes reusable) hairstyle which can be removed with no damage to your own hair, provided you follow the aftercare instructions. You can achieve things which are impossible with natural hair alone: non-fading uv reactive neon colors, excessive volume and instant length! Dread extensions can be totally customized to you, so however you imagine it can probably be done! They generally last for ~2 months. Your natural hair must be at least 3" to hold synth dreads properly.
I do several different types of synth dreads depending on the desired outcome:
Wrapped Dreads: The Client's hair is braided and wrapped with synth hair so it is hidden. These look great, but cannot be reused after you take them out in 2 months. The appointments are long, also, as all the work is done on the head.
Double-Ended Dreads: These are pre-made by me and reusable, great for tons of volume as two dreads come out of each section. The Client's hair is braided on the outside of the dreads, so they work best if the base color matches the client's haircolor. Installation appointments are short.
Single-Ended Dreads: Very similar to Double-Ended dreads except only one dread comes out of each section. The installation period is a bit longer, also.
DreadBraids: Huge volume! Hair is backcombed and braided. Can be done 3 strand or boxbraids. Technically reusable though they get shorter each time. Appointment time is moderate.
Combinations of two or more methods is doable as well!
