Loose Extensions

Loose extensions can be used to add a few streaks of color, extra length or extra body to your natural hair. They can be integrated in to blend into your natural hair, or some methods will tuck away most of your natural hair altogether. I offer 5 methods for loose extensions so you can choose which is most suitable for you!

weaves

Weaves are the cheapest, fastest way to do loose extensions. Essentially, your hair is cornrowed in 4 - 5 rows and then the hair on a track is sewn in with high quality weaving thread. This method lasts for 2 - 6 weeks, depending on how well it is taken care of and the texture of your natural hair.
Weaves may be done with human hair or synth hair (or a combination of both), depending on the desired effect, and the hair can even be reused several times if it has cared for.

microrings

Microrings are the fastest of the single strand methods, and in my opinion also the most indetectable method. It is done by installing hundreds of tiny sections (about 1/8" diameter) into your own hair via a tiny metal ring which is clamped shut. Please note, this method can not be done if you have a nickel allergy! Please inform me of any Latex or Plastic allergies also!
This method of hair extensions can be done with human or synth hair. the best type has prebonded tips for this method, but human hair this way is hard to find over 18" long. Pretipping is available if you prefer to buy either bulk or wefted human hair, but it costs extra.
Microrings should last from 6 - 10 weeks before needing to be taken out. Removal can be done on your own with a friend, or you can schedule a removal appointment with me. This method leaves no damage to your natural hair.

shrinkies

Having your hair extended with the Shrinkies system takes a bit longer than microrings, but it is virtually invisible. It is done by installing hundreds of tiny sections (about 1/8" - 3/16" diameter) into your own hair via a tiny clear heat shrink tube. Since the tube is clear, I recommend this service to people who have brightly colored hair but want extensions. Your extensions (if cared for properly) should last you 6 - 10 weeks.
This method of hair extensions works best with human hair only. The best type has prebonded tips for this method, but human hair this way is hard to find over 18" long. Pretipping is available if you prefer to buy either bulk or wefted human hair, but it costs extra.
The hair must be removed by me after 2-3 months, so removal cost is included in the price.

pinchbraids

Installing hair via pinchbraids takes the longest out of any method, but it is wonderful when using synth hair! This is also a very comfortable method of hair extensions and very easy to style. Hair is sectioned out in tiny sections and a miniature braid is done at the roots with the extension hair, which goes for about 3/4" and then sealed, leaving your hair and the synth hair out the bottom. Great for a few accents also! Generally these last for 8 - 12 weeks, and can be easily taken out at home with a friend if you are careful.

fusion

Another single strand method that involves fusing the extension hair to your own hair in tiny sections with a heated keratin pre-tip. The bond material is flexible when heated but not hot enough to burn my fingertips, so there is no damage to your hair from the heat. They should last 8 - 12 weeks but must  be removed by me. They are removed with a special bond remover gel and tool, leaving no sticky residue or damage. The bonds are remarkably strong yet safe and comfortable at the same time.
